It cannot be deactivated, so I have to force stop it periodically. And no, force stopping it will not affect SMS."

"I haven`t done an update in about 6 months or more and when I drop in here and read a bit I can`t see any reason but to NOT update.I went into Developers Options and turned off the Auto Update at Restart and the Auto Update in the regular settings and any other place I`ve found it.They know they are screwing up our phone`s. I believe it`s deliberate. As long as there`s ``interaction`` there`s ``intercashing``. Making us unwilling catchers🍑 to whatever their pitching 🥒all while charging Evry1$$ 4it"
