"I`m going to have to uninstall this for the moment, it pops up with a notification I can`t dismiss saying it`s running a test, even when on opening the app it says it isn`t. Either ap is lying, or notifications are broken."

"I like that the speeds are being tracked. Hopefully the ISP will have to provide the speeds they promised."

"It was working great until about early Sep 2021. It stopped saving results (so no Charts). After two months, not receiving a response, I just uninstalled and reinstalled the app and saving data feature is back on. 1 star less for no response."

"Recently learned this app is a joke. They partnered with T-Mobile to test speeds of the `area network` and not the actual speeds delivered to the device. The FCC app does not take up data to speed test on T-Mobile but won`t give you the speeds you`re actually getting. Using OpenSignal DOES take your data but shows actual device speeds received and transmitted. Uninstalled since I`m sending back flawed device data."

"I`m skeptical that anything will be done for real families that live in the country. We have only one option for broadband at our house and 4g goes from 0gb transmission rate to over70gb on rare occasions. But it`s not uncommon to have rates under 10gbps. We are in an area that has few houses and better coverage (and more than one broadband choice all around us. Cell/talk signal is terrible too. Normally at one bar, on a variety of phones, it used to be higher. All other carriers worse"

"App works as intended. Even has extra features. Would recommend this app to anyone especially if they are trying to prove that they`re provider isn`t giving them the proper service."

"Abandonware, no longer works. Too bad - seemed like a good idea for the FCC, both as a service and a means to audit broadband speeds. Hate to be cynical but I do wonder if the latter got it shut down by telecom lobbyists."

"The app basically stopped working. The map that was full of hundreds of readings doesn`t show anything anymore. I guess the upload test fails since I get a annoying notification about the upload trying to finish that won`t go away unless I reboot my phone. I tried contacting the developer but just got a canned answer in response about constantly looking for ways to enhance and improve the app which totally ignored the problem I brought up. I`ll fix it myself. I`m uninstaling the app...."

"Reports speeds to only be a fraction of what I`m getting. Config is T-Mobile 4G LTE to a Mofi 4500 router to a Linksys ac6300 router. Linksys consistently shows a 15-20 Mb downlink on internal app, which I use to telework and stream video with, while the FCC app on my phone (Wi-Fi into Linksys) only shows 3 - 3.5Mb downlink. I don`t think I could telework and stream video on the 3 - 3.5Mb, so I have to question the results the FCC app gives."

"Update: July 22nd, 2023 - Contact form was fixed, hanging speed tests no longer occurring. Unfortunately, the test data is no longer accessible from the app. This includes the charts and the map. ``Contact us`` form always displays the following error: ``An error has occurred, please check that you`ve filled in everything correctly and try again. I`m trying to report an issue with this app`s background test feature and you can`t even contact the developer to report said bugs."

"New update is worse then original. My internet provider doesn`t consistently provide the speed and quality, and previous version app had charts, daily, weekly, monthly, yearly averages. This new update is harder to use and no data of averages. Deleting."

"Nice app in theory but on my S21 5G under Android 12 if works only the first time I open it. Subsequent attempts fail immediately (app closes after a sub-second ``flash`` of what I assume is the initial starting screen). App will only work again after I delete the cache AND data, but then I lose all the history of my tests. I am using a first-time, fresh install, version 3.1.4684"

"Use to work fine, now it hangs on upload test in the background and will never complete the upload test. I can even open the app and run a new test but the hung upload test still never finishes. Only way to remove it from my notification bar is to force close the app."

"Works great! I just wish they didn`t remove the feature that put your tests on a map. It was very interesting to see the map and how data speeds varied by location, using your own data. Please bring that back!"
