I had originally thought that the ads showed up when you retweet or like but I don`t enough experience to say that for sure. Right now it`s working great. I did have an issue with scrolling in that my notifications in status bar were still visible and I couldn`t read Tweets very easily. I found another app to black out the status bar when I`m using this app so that`s fixed."
