"e-edition and paying monthly before receiving a paper bill seem to each be dark patterns (have to call M-F during business hours like in 1985). I like the dead-man`s switch that is paying a month at a time manually-- without the obfuscation of itemized charges not visible online. If the digital newspaper becomes a casualty of technology like the paper newspaper, that would not surprise me. Only keeping a subscription to read the e-edition on an e-ink tablet/reader (i.e. not Android)."
