"Initial experience with the app was ok. Found my library on the first try. Search is very janky. No option to specifically search by author or book title, no option to match ALL words and not random words in the string"

"Doesn`t like to load. Lose books you reserved. Glitches constantly while listening to an audiobook and loses your place. When attempting to look at the chapters to go back to where you were, it wigs out the entire app making it close. If you touch the button to adjust the speed at which it reads it to you, it freaks out. The app closes the book and takes you back to the main screen. All in all this app is a piece of junk"

"Loads selected books a page at a time! I have no problems with my other reading apps, thought I would give this a try, its hard to rely on often stating, ``problem, retry``; difficult to even return ``liked`` titles after I read them on other apps."

"I agree with all the negative reviews: poor design, hard to see, minimal reading/listening functionality. But worst of all, you don`t know where the books come from. A lot, or most come through Libby/Overdrive but are not identified as such. But they are linked to your accounts with those services. Do something to a book in SimplyE and it affects that book in your Libby account! Best just stick with Libby/Overdrive where you can also check out books to Kindle."

"Audiobooks pause if you flip the screen. They will pause randomly and frequently reset to the last paused point. The app only allows 15 second fast forwards and reminds which makes the resets even more obnoxious given that you cannot skip full tracks. You also cannot play or pause with the buttons on a Bluetooth headset, but have to open the app to press the pause button. Nice concept, but needs a LOT of work to even implement basic functionality."

"Doesn`t load. Put books on hold and then they aren`t in the ``holds`` tab. Hard to navigate. Libby is much better."

"So far this app doesn`t work at all! Kind of whack for the NYPL to say you go electronic but then the app they require that you use won`t even let you search for anything."

"It`s absolutely impossible to find anything with this app. I`m beginning to think that they don`t really exist to serve the readers at the NYPL when we look for books for the NPR book club. This is a shameful embarrassment for anyone looking for a book."

"Horrible app. Just fails and fails and fails over and over again. But is there any other option to listen to and read nypl books?"

"The app is constantly crashing. It stops while listening to an audiobook and then resets to the beginning of a chapter. Sometimes it`s a completely different chapter than the one you were listening to. There is so much time wasted trying to find your place before the crash. Please fix this."

"Every time I close the app, it erases everything, (I mean everything) my bookmarks, books, and library card information... smh. It`s a pain having to load everything and find where you left off, especially with audio books"
