"Really like story, setting, characters. Actual game is kind of a dud. Choices presented seldom represent how I would respond in a situation. Terrifically well-written, but the game aspect needs to improve to get me to pay to see the rest."

"I had no plans to buy the full game, but I got so into the story that I bought it straight away when I ran out of free chapters. I just finished my first playthrough and I still have a tonne of achievements to get so it definitely has a high potential for replaying. It`s 100% text based but it works really well."

"Not clearly marked as a demo, uninstalled before even playing. Pro Tip: tell users beforehand they`re not getting a full game for free"

"I was honestly in love with this story. Given my own background in theatre and love of the dramatical elements of 1800`s New York I was drawn deeply into both the logistics and the cloak and dagger elements of this particular adventure and had I the funds to buy the full game I would sadly I cannot at the time but this game is amazing I am a sadly destitute fan but an avid one none the less"

"Magnificent. So much better than I expected it to be. Amazingly well written and characters that I actually care about. When it ended, all I wanted is more, to see how my company continues!"

"Cool. I like the way immersed you in the time of 1850`s while maintaining fun and silly elements to it."

"This is not my favorite game. While the writing is good, the namedrops fun, and the branching more varied than it seems after only one or two playthroughs, this game struggles with aligning text and choices with stats. For example, the text says I have a strong relationship with the press, but then, when I try to use that relationship, I learn they could not care less about me or my theater. Or, I`d try to convince someone with my vision only to learn that I was unconvincing or had a different reputation. In most Choice games, I rarely check the stats page unless I`m managing some minutiae (such as in Choice of Rebels), with Broadway: 1849, however, I ended up checking before before nearly every decision. It can be very frustrating to play when it is hard to guess how decisions will play out, especially when the text makes implications that do not bear out in play."

"This was very well written and filled with unique gems advancing it into a level above several other offers made available. Have not done a replay through yet but was impressed more by the depth of the first run."

"Great game. To the person that complained this was ``overly liberal``, you do know it is a game, right? I didn`t think I had to point it out. But apparently I had to because, you know, this medium called ``fiction`` is called the way it is because it only borrows elements from reality and used to craft a narrative for the purpose of entertaining people."

"The game isn`t horribly written, as a book it wouldn`t be too bad, but this is CHOICE of games. And the choices in this game are illusions. Having very little effect on the story. The writer is too much of a control freak to want to stray from a certain sequence of events he/she wants to write, rather than letting the audience decide. A cardinal sin in choose your own adventure."

"Decent story and all with some okay characters. A little random at times. Not bad at all, but overpriced. It is kind of simplistic, with a mild focus on management."
