"EDIT: Went back and played the Heroes Rise Trilogy which changed my views. Looking back on this, I found that HPRS is new-player friendly, but playing the previous trilogy made everything feel familiar and just easier to understand. It made me appreciate HPRS even more. If HPRS mimics the previous trilogy in any way, then that makes me more eager to see what comes next. To me, Heroes Rise: The Prodigy was the basic, vanilla origin story that didn`t peak my interest that much, but the following installments really picked up and were engaging, so here`s hoping the same will happen with HPRS! The other reviews were spot-on with the social justice themes. It`s awesome that the author wants to incorporate it into the story and the MC`s history/motives, but it`s a little jarring in how it`s handled, and becomes more prominent after the demo. This trickled down into the characters too, but I guess the whole format makes sense, considering they are on a ``game show``, and promoting and campaigning for their own causes. The story itself seems promising, but it didn`t pick up until the end for me. I thought this game would be new player friendly, but there was a lot of catching up to do and sometimes, it felt like I was too busy figuring out all the different factions. So definitely wanna check out the first series, so I can understand the lore and the references better. I bought this game because I got attached to StarSoar at the end of the demo, so I was pretty bummed when I found out he got bumped off so early in the game. I mean, come on! (At least, he`ll come back in the next one??) I`m interested to know what happens next, but this wasn`t as enjoyable compared to other choice games."

"The only progression in this game is in the number of made-up pronouns you encounter. A SJW might blow a load here but if you`re normal, you`ll find this game distasteful."

"Although I do somewhat agree with some people that it feels like this game focuses too much on political view(?(sorry, not sure how to adequately word what I`m trying to say)), I also feel that it`s doing in a good and interesting way since this actually seemed like an logical way to continue the story. The only problem I have with the game is the slightly less solid romance interactions and open ending. the previous series was a little better about the ending, they were generally conclusive and wouldn`t be too dissapointing if a sequel didn`t come out, this one felt a little too open ended...but I hope it just means you plan to make a follow-up, other than those 2 things, I personally really liked it"

"I wish I could be a sequel to the third part of the hero project where the story just continues but this part was whole different thing with very less connection with the triology ...... waiting for replies."

"Pronouns of zis/sis/etc are too much, ruins the experience, would be better if the author tone down it a bit"

"I loved the Heroes Rise trilogy, gave it 5 stars on both major app stores, I don`t know how many recommendations; this was something else. It has its bright spots to be sure, but in the end it felt like a single issue propagandist piece. The first series, it was just part of the world in what was a personal story that was highly adaptive to any character I might want to play. This forced me to replay as a ``Transfer`` type personality when I played a ``Miss Boss`` and tied it to ``societal``. Ruined it."

"I`m all for diversity and inclusivity. I`m perfectly fine with games like this allowing the player to be LGBT/non-binary. But it gets a little out of control in this game. The original trilogy was great, because it was Inclusive, but mainly focused on the actual story - which was about being a super hero. This game seems to be entirely about activism, under the disguise of a super hero story. I found myself getting a little irritated, trying to immerse myself in the story, but having to focus too much on social issues, than just enjoying a game. Also, wouldn`t it be easier to just use they/them instead of zir/ze? Every time I came across those pronouns, I had to actively make my brain register it."

"Less fun than the original. While I support the subject the author is supporting, I like my games to be more fun and less like an educational sermon. As much as I loved the previous games, I have not been able to finish this one. It definitely disappointed me because I was really looking forward to playing through another season of the Hero Project."

"The decent story tends to get buried underneath all the equality subtext. I wanted more superhero stuff and less ``meaningful message`` stuff. I would like to see more emphasis on traditional superhero-ing moving forward. Love that prodigal is back in some fashion though! :D"

"Not as good as the other ones. Way too activist-y. It`s more about pushing
for superhero rights, in a paper-thin analogy for lgbt rights, than
actually being a superhero."

"Okay, so I read all the hero series so far and I got to say I love the stories! Honestly, I was disappointed when I saw that the mc was changed and I really didn`t want to read it. Though, I did for the sake of my characters and to see how their relationship developed. I was kind of put off by the new mc`s transformations like I just found it werid pursuing the romance options when you have the mc literally looking like a dog, like lol pick your choice a poodle, pitbull, or whatever. I mean, the mc transforms to a different animal with different parts on her/him everyday such as it could be just the ears, or wings so don`t let that stop you from reading it. So anyway, I`m glad to see that the characters are fine and I do believe you`ll put in more info about what`s up with Jury since hey that Lyra girl even said that he`d go back to the mc right away if asked and there was that ``loaded glance`` moment. I`m not really surprised that That happened since even the mc said he was sleazy, lol. I just hope you put more info about Black Magic or err... Bright Magic cause there`s still some things uncleared with his/her bg. It`d be cool too, if you gave them different endings like in Heroes series most of them had the same endings. Either way, I look forward to the next book! Good luck! :)"
