"You play the allies trying to advance an armored spearhead to link up with isolated paratroopers. Fun scenario. Rules include supply air drops, tactical formations for units, ranged artillery, and night turns. Units gain experience and skills from battles. Variable set up ensures it can be replayed many times."

"After complaining about the difficulty and balance of an earlier version I must ammend my review to say that seems to have been completely addressed. Still looks like it will be a challenge."

"This is how a strategic turn-based wargame should work. If you use proper military strategy and tactics, things will not go horribly wrong. The entire ``Conflict Series`` is must-have for casual and serious wargamers. Joni: great job as usual."

"Too many German units. They appear at full strength at the flanks everywhere. Operation market garden was not as hopeless as this game is."

"Too bad Montgomery did not have this to game his disaster before he slaughtered his elite paratroopers. Sosabowski would have agreed. Your Allied troops get slaughtered but we die valiantly."

"I believe I reviewed this game before, but it calls for a re-review. The
game was rebalanced several months ago. The Germans are now tougher around
the 2 furthest landing zones, and the game plays more like the real battle.
Around Arnhem, your airborne troops will do well just to survive. (Tip: you
actually have to march them away from the objectives to relieve the
pressure.) Around Nijmegen, you should survive, but only if you focus on
moving south to link up with the ground troops asap. A good challenge with
Joni`s usual well-thought-out mechanics."

"Joni`s strategy games are little gems for those of us with fond memories of Avalon Hill and Tiller games. These are well researched, well-tuned, and very fun to play. I`m hooked."

"This is a regiment/brigade-level simulation of Market Garden, and V.3.2.2.8 fixes many earlier problems. Specifically, the Germans have gone from mostly sitting in place to aggressively attacking the corridor, raising the challenge significantly. Not the best in the series, but it just moved up the table."

"Great game, but HARD. Probably because it`s very realistic. I.e., the best you`ll likely do is take the Eindhoven and Nijmegen bridges, and only get close to Arnhem, well after the paratroopers have wiped out. In other words, as well as the actual commanders did."

"Great, fun game. But very difficult to win. While all the games of the Conflict series are challenging, all model the battles and campaigns they depict with remarkable fidelity. Hence, not surprisingly the most difficult titles are those where the player plays the side that lost historically. To win in Operation-Market Garden, and `change history,` you`ll need lots of skill and luck. It`s no mean feat to do as well as Montgomery did, and fall short just short of Arnhem. Highly recommended"

"I used to like all the games from Joni, but I just cannot get my head around what he has done here. The game balance is just plain wrong as far as I am concerned. I may well be in a minority, but I just do not like the direction Joni is taking and for the first time will have to delete one of his games. I am very disappointed. I doubt I will buy another of his games, unless he changes direction. Sorry. On the positive side, I have loads of respect for Joni, had a couple of great conversations with him, I just cannot agree with him here."
