"It`s not often these days that you stumble across something entirely unique. Penrose very much fits that description, and in the best possible way. I can`t recall an instance where I`ve gotten more enjoyment from a single dollar spent."

"This story is criminally underrated, I wish more people knew about this! If you are on the fence about this game, you can play the first part of the game for free online. After that? Worth every penny! You won`t regret it"

"I absolutely love this game. This take on story telling is so unique and interesting, I can`t stop finding my way through the story! I discovered the short web version while playing ADR and I immediately went on my phone to buy the game and read the full story. Amazing work!"

"A very nice puzzle visual novel with an interesting story, and multiple perspectives"

"Very cool nonlinear narrative. Love how the choices are incorporated into the story instead of stuck at artificial juncture points, love the switches between different first person POVs to enrich both the storytelling and the puzzle/butterfly-effect aspects of the whole thing, love the mysterious SCP-esque vibes of the story as a whole. My only real criticism is that the ending felt a little abrupt, and there was no way to go back from it to reread without restarting the whole game from the top."

"actually brilliant. I wasn`t looking for a game but the web version of this drew me in, and sixty-odd pence for a novel, a game, AND a soundtrack? amazing. really immersive and oddly affecting, I hope you will make more (and charge more!)"

"Amazing story, although difficult to navigate at times, I`m unsure whether there are many typos or if my understanding of literary English is lacking, either way, it was still a very enjoyable experience :)"

"Never before have I experienced a story quite like Penrose. Non-linearity is the centrepiece of this game - both in its story and gameplay mechanics and I really enjoyed this synergy of form and content. Especially when I finally managed to turn off my default completionist and analytic gaming mindset and just let the story flow and twist and fold on itself while breathing in the strange, slightly unnerving atmosphere. Really brilliant piece of art."

"Great story told via different characters through branching paths and dialogue. The narrative can be influenced through different choices, which affect the story`s past, present and future as a sort of Butterfly Effect, gradually revealing more of the story."

"Disappointing. While the storytelling concept is one-of-a-kind, the actually story can be difficult to follow. As you navigate the story, it seems the characters are uncovering a mystery. Well, clearly everything will be explained at the end, right?.....right??? NO!!! IT JUST ENDS!!! I can`t even remember what the last ``move`` was but it suddenly changed the screen to ``the end`` or something! WHAT HAPPENED TO THE MACHINE?! THE SIBLINGS?! ALL THOSE GHOSTS?! Again, very disappointing."

"really fun and interesting story, though I wish a couple paths (to the full ending) were more obvious about having to go back really far. if you like puzzle games you`ll figure it out though. I like all the different paths, it means I can play it multiple times. my only real complaint is that sometimes in it`s quest to be mysterious and vague, it just gets confusing and hard to read."

"A delightfully novel take on the ``choose your own adventure`` book. I enjoyed weaving in and out of each character`s perspective and seeing how my choices changed the story."

"Very interesting and unique story game. I give it five stars, but I agree with others that the ending was abrupt. I also wasn`t sure if I had got the ``bad ending``, and I spent some time going back through things and trying to ``win``."

"Beautiful twists and turns, hopping back and forth between stories trying to get things straight only to realize you accidentally unlocked something else… started on the web version and was very glad to see that there was an option to start off from where the demo left off. Definitely need some time to mull over what all just happened…"

"I can only say that this was such a bafflingly wonderful experience. I got hooked in and could not look away, the immersion was outstandingly done. I have never had an experience with any kind of game even close to this one, and the lead in from a completely separate game was unexpected and so thrilling."

"Very cool concept and good writing, although I wish there were a function to directly teleport back to sections you had missed once the game is over. A great experience overall and well worth the price."

"One of the best games I`ve ever played. It`s slightly lacking in replay value (still better on replay than most games first times), but that doesn`t take away from the sheer amazement of the first run through. Can`t wait to see what`s next from Doublespeak."

"Really intriguing and surreal writing and characters. The nonlinear nature of the story is very well executed. I like that the players choices are not things that the characters actually control, it`s a nice twist on the choose your own adventure format, and ties into the themes of fate and destiny."
