"Hate the app that require account to use. They usually asking first name and last name to make. Millions of people don`t have thing called ``last name`` including me."

"This app looks nice. However, its latest update was one year ago. And many recent comments were not replied by the developer. I am hesitant paying for access due to these two reasons."

"Awesome! A great intermediate step for those who have learned the basics in duolingo but can`t yet read or understand Japanese news or tv shows."

"I really really really love this app. It is INCREDIBLY helpful and also fun to use and learn with! That being said though, I do wish there were more stories to read. At this time, the selection feels very limited. On top of that, I was disappointed to only be able to read the first 2 chapters of any given story only to find that the rest was locked unless I bought a subscription... But that is my own personal opinion so I won`t let it affect the app`s rating. I still highly reccomend it!!"

"The app is great and i sure understand why content isnt given away for free. But there`s been an app like it and it is free. It also offers SRS aswell as way more content, playlists, imports and more. I`d consider subscribing anyway if the content was free. Its still good to learn from and i know that this way of ``studying`` is best so 5 star is mandatory when you consider the quality of the content here. I just dislike paywalls."

"Great explanation and perfect for beginners, no complaints here but i love to see that you guys could add the option to just hear the audio of the word without having to listen to the entire sentence, would help knowing what I`m saying is correct compared to the audio. But great work on the app, lovin` it."

"Great stories. Great narration. Great explanations of the Vocab and grammar. But... The app is really clunky to use. It starts up slow, it doesn`t remember your place, you can`t just play long sections of audio. So I stopped using it. If the stories were just on YouTube I would listen to them, but I don`t like this app."

"Satori Reader is a superb app for Japanese reading (and listening) practice, with customizable kanji display, tailored definitions, helpful explanations, and a variety of styles, genres and difficulty-levels of content. Staff are friendly and super-responsive; IMO their detailed, thoughtful responses to users’ specific questions alone are worth the price of admission. You really do feel that they care about their product and their users. Other reviewers aren’t kidding; this deserves six stars. Note: This app is NOT geared to absolute beginners, or to kanji acquisition. It`s suited to users already exposed to the basics via another resource (e.g. Genki, Human Japanese, etc.) who are looking to practice and develop their skills."

"This has supercharged my language acquisition. This story-based method, with audio, sound effects, show/hide translation, furigana markup and rich contextual info is exactly what I needed. Just one issue: it takes a long time to start up."

"Good app overall but there`s a bug where if I try to change the speed of the audio the sound cuts out. Works fine on the mobile web version though so probably an issue with my mobile. Thanks very much to Brian for his advice."

"I love Sotori reader. I do wish there were a few more easier level stories and it`s not for a beginner. I am around N4 bridging to N3 and am able to understand (with the help of the built in dictionary) most of the easier stories. I am continuing my studies and hope to be able to read the intermediate stories by the time I finish the easier content. The stories are simple but interesting and use many words from daily life. I also use wanikani and was glad I could sync the apps. I recommend!"

"By the far the best app for practicing Japanese that I know of and have used. This app makes reading far more doable than any other. Not only can you tap on words for a definition, they are usually annotated specifically for the context they are used in, and complicated or unusual grammar points are explained as well. Furthermore, the stories provided vary in difficulty and theme, meaning everyone has something to enjoy. I don`t usually write reviews, but it`s seriously so amazing that I had to."

"Looking very promising. I know Brak software from their excellent Human Japanese app suite. Truly excellent. I wish i could have written this in MIT SAIL`s Curl programming language ... for partial penny per page, but a grad student claimed all work must be free. Yawn. Curl lives on at Tokyo SCTS Corp"

"It`s an amazing and underappreciated app. It`s so good for reading practice since you don`t have to look up words and can alter so many setting to make it just to your liking. It can be used by all people from beginners to intermediates and advanced learners of Japanese."

"This is by far the best app I`ve used to learn Japanese! It specifically caters to your skill level and guides you through readings and dialogs, explaining grammar and vocabulary as you go along so you`re getting real interactive practice. I`ve noticed my grammar and comprehension improve significantly faster than when I was just learning through a textbook, I think partially because the fictional associations with the grammar and. vocabulary are so vivid."
