"Really nicely done. Stroke snapping is really bad though. Impedes learning when you think you`ve done the `nu` symbol correctly and it dings you, not because you drew wrong, but because it detected wrong. Maybe that repetition is the point?"

"Skritter is a fantastic service that I have used for years to help learn Japanese. I used to use their web app to study, but now mostly use the iOS app on an ancient iPod Touch. This Android app is great because it allows writing kana, as well as kanji; the iOS app does not support kana. Unfortunately, though, the Android app is missing some very important features that are present on every other platform I`ve used Skritter on, such as indicating how due/overdue an item is and when it was last studied, and anything but the most basic interactions with vocabulary lists. I still use Skritter every day, and I can`t wait to be able to retire my iPod Touch (only used for Skritter anymore) and only need this Android app for practice once it has been improved enough."

"It`s a great app, sadly it keeps on laggging and can`t be open recently. I already uninstalled and installed it but it only displayed a green screen."

"It`s amazing, I can study more characters from time to time. There`s some features that I miss from the web version like community mnemonics or dictionary searches, but is good enough."

"It`s an OK app but not worth usd14.99 a month, its a saturated market and I would be curious to know how many subscribers are coming in at this price point. It`s okay, but I won`t pay that price. Something like this is more suitable to a one off payment not subscription."

"Even in the free version, excellent app. Teaches hiragana and katakana as well as a decent amount of kanji, and it allows you to see how you truly write (rather than force your line into the font, as many other apps do). One star less because it seems quitw resource intensive - my phone frequently heats up quite significantly while using it. No other major issues! /Edit: Picking it up again a couple of years later, new phone, no heating, very enjoyable. Went pro license 2 weeks ago, and happy!"

"The app works well now and I would recommend it to anyone looking to learn how to write Kanji. The low score is due to previous versions that had app breaking bugs. It still has a lot to improve upon shared mnemonics, progress graphs, sentences etc. However what it does, it does extremely well. The developers seem to be on the right track for improvements and have vowed to stop the bugs in the beta version from getting into the release version."

"excellent app!! I have been struggling to learn kanji, ever since I started studying Japanese. but with this app it became so much easier and got to learn over 60 kanji in 1 week (something I couldn`t do in over 3 years!)"

"I don`t appreciate that it makes you sign up your email and neglects to mention you`ll need to start paying after a seven day trial. I would have created the account on a different day so I could prioritize learning. I might have even payed for an account but that`s bullshit Scritter."
