"I live in one of the cities they service, but they set me up in DC. You`d think they would have noticed my address wasn`t near DC. My background check came back and all of sudden I get tons of phone calls telling me there are tons of passengers in DC, demand is high, get on the road. I told them I didn`t live in DC. I tried the app anyway and it says my background check is still pending. I gave up. The proper insurance coverage is too much money anyway, so it was probably better this way."

We started Empower to empower drivers who can’t make a sustainable living under the current rideshare model and to provide an alternative for passengers who want the convenience provided by on-demand transportation platforms, but prefer to support drivers, not the companies exploiting them. By removing the giant corporate middleman, Empower is able to do that, while enabling passengers to obtain less expensive and more customized transportation directly from drivers.
